Please join in a university wide Juneteenth Celebration in Frick Forum (outside of Emerson Auditorium) in Bauer and Knight Hall on the Danforth Campus. Join colleagues for food, music, and a chance to hear from WashU faculty and staff about their research, work, and projects as they connect to the commemoration and celebration of Juneteenth.
Event Schedule
- 12 p.m: Black Owned Vendor Fair begins (food and drinks will be provided to all attendees)
- 1 p.m: Welcome Remarks from Black Faculty and Staff Cabinet followed by our keynote speakers:
- Dineo Khabele, MD | Mitchell & Elaine Yanow Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Raven Maragh-Lloyd, PhD | Assistant Professor of African and African American Studies and Film and Media Studies
- Updates: WashU & Slavery Project, School of Medicine Desegregation Timeline
- Closing: Black Faculty and Staff Cabinet
