The Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity (CRE2) Core
The Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity (CRE2) brings the research force of Washington University to study how race and ethnicity are integral to the most complex and challenging issues of our time. We are a cross-campus hub that galvanizes and incubates new research architectures and vocabularies, insurgent methodologies and practices, and novel interventions.
The Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity (CRE2) provides services to investigators engaged in Race/Ethnicity research. CRE2 Faculty Affiliates have developed high quality services in multiple areas of race and ethnicity studies. Across all seven schools at Washington University in St. Louis and with a growing community of Faculty Affiliates, the center supports field-defining research, innovative learning, and strategic engagement that will transform scholarship, policy, and clinical interventions where race and ethnicity are at the center.
The Center is partnering with the Washington University School of Medicine’s Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences’s (ICTS) Just-In-Time (JIT) Core Usage Funding Program. The intent of the JIT Core Usage Funding Program is to provide quick access to funding to use any of the ICTS-Affiliated Cores for research advancing medical knowledge that can improve human health. This program is designed to support investigators in obtaining final data 1) for developing a clinical/translational proposal to be submitted for extramural funding, and/or 2) leading to a concrete improvement in patient care (QA/QI) at Barnes-Jewish Hospital or St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Investigators interested in applying may first read the JIT Program Overview and JIT Application System User Guide here, and then request a consultation by emailing cre2@wustl.edu. A meeting will then be scheduled to discuss the proposal before the investigator submits an application.
CRE2 is an affiliated resource of the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences.
