Assistant Professor of Sociology

Ariela Schachter’s research focuses on immigration, race relations, and inequality in the United States. She is currently engaged in projects spanning three main strands of research: (1) public attitudes towards immigrants; (2) racial/ethnic relations; and (3) neighborhood selection and residential inequality. Professor Schachter primarily uses experiments and causal inference methods; more recently she has begun using big data and computational text analysis in her work.
