Jacquelyn Coats is currently a Social Work PhD student at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests are broadly dedicated to the social and environmental determinants of health that disproportionately adversely impact Black Americans, with a focus on Black adults in later life. Her specific research interests center on 1) mental and physical health consequences of structural racism and discrimination; 2) health promotion, healthy aging, and wellness among midlife and older Black women; 3) identifying cultural and community assets that enhance health and 4) faith-based health promotion and community-based participatory research methods.
