Jennifer (Jenn) Beatty is a second-year graduate student at the Diversity Science Lab in the Psychological and Brain Sciences Department at Washington University in St. Louis. Her primary research interests include long-term racial bias reduction, emotion regulation, and intergroup relations. Her current work tests an intervention to increase regularity capacity by reducing defensiveness to feedback about racial biases. As an interdisciplinary scholar, she also has master’s degrees in Applied Positive Psychology and Education from the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a research coordinator at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She was also a K-8 teacher in inner-city Philadelphia with Teach for America before graduate school.
