Sally D. Danforth Distinguished Professor of Law and Religion

I write about pluralism, difference, and dissent, with a number of implications for race and ethnicity. In addition, the intersecting First Amendment rights of speech, press, and assembly have long facilitated efforts toward racial equity and adding more voices to political discourse. Some of my recent work has focused on the law of unlawful assembly and social and legal constructs of “reasonableness.”
