Madeline Owens Jansen is interested in racial disparities in mental health especially multiracial, BIPOC, and queer/trans* youth. The intersection of public health and psychiatry, is of particular interest. She has a focus in designing evidence-based interventions using mobile technology (m-health) to expand access to mental health resources among vulnerable populations. This is primarily dedicated to prevention of complex illnesses not addressed by traditional medical intervention such as obesity, suicidal behaviors, and racial bias among physicians.
