Maggie Wood

PhD Student, Sociology

Maggie Wood is broadly interested in the intersection of gender and social movements, with special attention to how race and class location shape the organizational actors’ claims and tactics. Her current project examines the factors belying COVID-19 vaccination hesitancy of mothers with young children to assess how logics and forms of protest against its administration are differently patterned by racial, ethnic, and class backgrounds and informed by cultural ideas of motherhood. Wood has also collaborated with scholars on other projects ranging from millennials’ perceptions of diversity and inclusion initiatives in the workplace, to international migration into Quebec, and higher education’s effect on poverty concentration in cities.
