Mykah examines the role of various sociocultural factors on the identity development experiences on Black women and girls. Particularly, she is interested in evaluating the effectiveness of interventions/programs created to support social and identity navigation for Black women and girls’ unique gendered-racial identity. Her research is informed by socialization theories from a variety of disciplines as well as developmental, social, and educational psychological perspectives.
