The CRE2 Innovation Space houses and incubates cutting-edge or experimental research and methodologies; helps faculty transform research ideas into concrete possibilities; and assists colleagues in envisioning the future architecture of opportunity for race/ethnicity research and collaboration.

The Innovation Space is currently composed of two funding opportunities: Labs/Startups/Ateliers and Research Working Groups:

Labs/Startups/Ateliers (LSAs) are highly flexible, Affiliate-led and -defined spaces in which Affiliates can envision myriad collaborations, engagements, and experimentation.

Research Working Groups (RWGs) incubate and generate intellectual exchange, facilitate deeper and broader understandings of the research topic, and catalyze innovative ideas about the research area.
