Laura Brugger is an assistant professor of research in the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. Laura’s work focuses on leveraging spatial methodologies to investigate spatial relationships across various social issues, and how this can reveal socio-spatial inequities, particularly around race, ethnicity, and income. Her research has investigated spatial disparities in climate-related issues, and most recently, has explored how natural disasters, risk, and resilience relate to voting outcomes. Additionally, Laura’s research projects have explored how cash transfer programs can reduce socio-economic disparities and improve economic mobility.
