The Center for Community Health Partnership & Research at the Institute for Public Health and Institute of Clinical & Translational Sciences presents Collaborative for Community-Centered Conversations, a.k.a. “Collaborative Café”. Collaborative Café offers opportunities for researchers and community partners to network, share experiences, and learn from each other.
The second in our fall series of events focused on racial equity, Panelists will explore the concept of a “racial equity lens” and ways that researchers, clinicians, and others can apply this lens to their work. The discussion will highlight ways that a racial equity lens in research and practice addresses systemic inequities.
Attendees will:
- Examine the concept of a “racial equity lens”
- Describe research approaches that are guided by a racial equity lens
- Describe the importance of a racial equity lens to improving research and practice in order to disrupt systemic racism and target inequities
- Identify pertinent resources to help apply a racial equity lens to the research process
Attendance
This event is open to all faculty, students, researchers, community members, and organizations dedicated to advancing equity through community-engaged research. This event will take place in person on the Washington University Danforth Campus.
Registration is strongly encouraged. Light refreshments will be provided.
Directions & Parking
This event will take place in the Doll & Hill Room located on the second floor of the Taylor Avenue Building on the Washington University Medical Campus.
Free, limited visitor parking is available in two-hour increments in the lot in front of the building along Taylor Avenue. By-the-hour parking is located at the Clayton Avenue garage just south of the institute at the corner of Clayton and Taylor Avenues. Learn more about parking on the Medical Campus. The Taylor Avenue Building is just one block east of the Central West End MetroLink station.
