Dr. James’ research examines racial, socioeconomic, and geographic disparities around health and healthcare. Much of this is around prevention and control of cancer, where cancer rates are higher, and screening rates (often) lower among racial minority populations. For example, in a recent study, Dr. James’ team examined financial strain and medication adherence. She also studies implementation of interventions to promote health equity in medically underserved settings.
