Anthony Nixon, Jr.’s research incorporates epidemiological methods to understand the Black maternal and child health crisis and its underlying causes. Using epidemiological analyses, he examines the disparities in maternal and child health outcomes among Black communities and identifies risk factors and protective factors associated with these outcomes. His research also utilizes epidemiological methods to assess the effectiveness of interventions aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes and reducing health disparities. Through the use of epidemiological data, Nixon’s scholarship contributes to the development of community-driven interventions and evidence-inform policies that can effectively promote health equity and reduce disparities in maternal and child health outcomes for Black communities. By examining the social and structural determinants of health and applying epidemiological methods, his research and scholarship promotes a holistic understanding of the Black maternal and child health crisis and provides a comprehensive approach to addressing this critical public health issue.
