Beth Miller

Sr. Engineering Writer & Communications Specialist

Beth Miller is interested in race and ethnicity as it relates to the various black neighborhoods in St. Louis that have been replaced by development. She has conducted many individual interviews with displaced residents and studied the context and frequency of such action in the area. She has presented her work in the community and in several classes at Washington University and will have an essay included in an upcoming issue of The Common Reader. Professionally, Beth is editor of Engineering Momentum magazine, the magazine of the McKelvey School of Engineering. She is using that platform to include more about the school’s focus on increasing diversity, equity and inclusion among its faculty, staff and students and on changing the culture of what has traditionally been a school dominated by white males.
