I am interested in decision making, particularly how patients/families make their decisions and how they understand their options. This relates to equity of and access to care, which is often not distributed similarly among different populations.
Additionally, I am investigating the use of art in the medical school curriculum. I am working on a project to see how sessions involving visual arts can help students learn about patient stigma, particularly as it relates to race and ethnicity, but also how it relates to diagnosis and visibility of a patient’s condition.
