Dan’s research focuses on structural barriers to participation in social welfare policies and programs and inequities in food security, healthcare, and election administration, with a focus on rapid translation of analysis and evaluation into policy practice. He directs Data for Social Impact, which seeks to build collaborative social sector capacity in equitable, community-centered data practice and strategy, and is a co-founder and lead of Partnership in Equity and Excellence in Practicum at the Brown School, a research-practice initiative that builds community and capacity through deeper understanding of how advancing racial equity is taught, practiced, and applied outside classroom settings.
