My main research goals are to leverage clinical and population health data to understand the impact of social determinants of health on patient outcomes. In particular, I am focused on understanding the factors that intersect with an individual’s race or ethnicity to ultimately influence their health-related outcomes. In order to do this, my current work surrounds identifying methods to routinely collect social determinants of health in clinic visits. This information will then be provided to clinicians in real-time so that they can connect patients with appropriate resources to address their unique needs.
