Daria Berman researches the Spanish Inquisition, with a focus on the racial and ethnic persecution of forced converts to Catholicism in Spain and Spanish colonies in the Americas and East Asia. Her interests in race and ethnicity extend beyond the medieval and early modern periodization of her research. She engages with a wide range of scholars and activists who develop pedagogical tools to combat racism and prejudice. She also serves on the board of a charity advocating to end healthcare disparities among minorities in the United States.
