David Rigby

Lecturer, Sociology

David Rigby’s research employs quantitative, archival, and computational methods to investigate the historical, institutional, and cultural processes that shape racial inequality and immigration—from political change to vulnerability to collective and state violence. His current projects look at the legacies of slavery and lynching in the US, the expansion of restrictive state-level immigration policies in the US, and changing policy debates around racialized policies like immigration and welfare.
