Han Koehle is interested in the production, maintenance, and disruption of health injustice within medicine and other health care, from academic medicine to medical informatics to point of service. Han’s research started out in trans health and has moved toward analyzing the field of power shaping health inequalities more holistically, considering interlocking oppression within the overall investment of medical systems in white supremacist colonial capitalism. Han’s current research includes historical sociological research on the role of the Journal of the American Medical Association in producing health injustice and mixed-methods research into the relationship between racialized policing and public trust in vaccines and government vaccine programs.
