Kimberly Soriano (she/they)received her PhD in Feminist Studies from UC Santa Barbara and a dual B.A. in Chicana/o Studies and African American Studies from UCLA. Her current book project titled, Carceral Enclosures and Feminist Fugitivities in Latinx Los Angeles: Deviant Care Webs by Surveilled Bodies centers the care webs that are built by communities considered deviant as they navigate gendered and racialized policing and displacement in a globalized city. Her current research expands on work she did focusing on criminalization of migrant Latinx and Black sex workers in the Figueroa Corridor from sports development based on her previous postdoctoral position and organizing work at Southern California Library in South Central Los Angeles. She currently organizes with Sex Worker Outreach Project Los Angeles, The Sidewalk Project and has served as a fellow and advisor to Sex Worker Giving Circle.
