Assistant Professor of Medicine, School of Medicine

My primary research focus is on disparities in the diagnosis and treatment of serious illnesses. Race and ethnicity as layers of patients’ lived experiences are critical factors to understanding the complexity of these disparities and to improve care for historically underserved populations. In addition to the targeted outcomes of my research, I focus on improving inclusion and equity in the implementation of research studies, including clinical trials, through study design, recruitment, measures, and approaches to data collection.
