Lina Han has strong interests in academic research in interdisciplinary topics related to diversity and finance. In an collaborative project with Xing Huang, Ohad Kadan and Jimmy Wu, they study how racial diversity relates to capital flows in the financial market. The study shows that white-dominant mutual fund teams tend to allocate more weight to firms whose CEOs are white. In contrast, minority-dominant mutual fund teams overweight firms whose CEOs are the minority. The results document that systemic in-group bias affects managers’ investment decisions.
