My research looks at natural resource development impacts on environments, communities, and livelihoods in the rural U.S., including areas with economic imbalances among racially-diverse populations. I also research contemporary photography in South Africa, specifically the use of landscape photography to promote reflection on the legacies of apartheid rule.
