Meredith Lehman

Head of Museum Education at Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum/Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts

As Head of Museum Education at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, Meredith Lehman develops educational programs that support lifelong learning in the arts across campus and in St. Louis. She works to expand the “museum community” through initiatives that leverage institutional resources to center groups who have been excluded due to structural oppressions, including racism, sexism, and ableism. Meredith coordinates pre-professional opportunities for students to advance racial and ethnic diversity in the museum field and is a member of the Fairness & Diversity Committee in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. She has worked on identity-conscious teaching practices through educator workshops and arts-based curricula and has published on language use in the museum. Meredith is interested in museum programming that contributes to social change, develops racial literacy, and deepens cultural awareness through dialogue and critical engagement with history.
