Najjuwah Walden, MSW is broadly interested in the user-centered design and effectiveness of nutrition education to prevent and reverse diet-related NCDs during perinatal periods in communities impacted by food apartheid in the United States. Her work examines pathways and mechanisms linking dietary components to NCDs and evaluates user attitudes and beliefs regarding these linkages to identify user perspectives on information usability and adaptability. As a translational scholar, Najjuwah aims to inform the development of culturally acceptable, accessible, and affordable nutrition education that contributes to sustainable dietary habits and maternal and infant health.
