Naomi Kim is interested in the intersections between Asian American literature and Christianity, especially in the ways in which Asian American writers deploy, challenge, or construct certain theologies (loosely defined) in their works. Her work takes into consideration the histories and legacies of immigration and imperialism, as well as the development of the field of Asian American theology itself from the late twentieth-century to the present. She also examines the entanglements of religious and ethnic identities with a particular interest in Korean Americans and the Korean diaspora.
