Rebecca Dudley is a PhD student in Sociocultural Anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research focuses on legacies of the plantation in present-day industrial agriculture, using lenses from political ecology, Black geography, American slavery historiography, and kinship studies to understand the relationship between power, farming, technology, and land in the U.S. South. This work employs both historical and ethnographic methods. Rebecca has extensive experience working within the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
